Each year, hundreds of generous individuals and organizations give of their time and financial resources in support of Community College of Philadelphia. It is this critical support that fulfills our ambition to further student achievement, bring positive change to our communities and ensure that the College continues providing excellent opportunities to students.

About the Foundation

The Community College of Philadelphia Foundation enhances and enriches the educational experiences of Community College of Philadelphia students by providing external resources to support the College's mission. As its private funding development arm, the Foundation seeks to support the College's mission by bringing together community leaders who will serve as ambassadors broadening the College's image community wide. The Foundation serves the College by creating partnerships with individuals, businesses, organizations and foundations to raise private gifts for scholarships, instructional equipment, professional development and capital needs. The Foundation raises funds through its annual fund campaign, special events programs, and individual and corporate solicitations.

The Foundation's mission is to highlight the College's strategic priorities by attracting philanthropic contributions; raising public awareness of the College’s people and programs; and engaging current and former students, faculty, staff and friends to actively participate in the College’s endeavors.

About Institutional Advancement

The Office of Institutional Advancement (IA) is responsible for advancing the College in the areas of: alumni relations/alumni association, annual giving, corporate and foundation giving, public and private grants, capital campaign, major gifts, planned giving, scholarships, and special fundraising events.    

The Community College of Philadelphia Foundation is under the umbrella of the Office of Institutional Advancement, and as such its activities are coordinated and administered through the Office of Institutional Advancement, with the Vice President of Institutional Advancement serving as the Executive Director of the Foundation.

Donor Recognition

The Giving Societies at Community College of Philadelphia recognize donors who make annual unrestricted gifts to the Community College of Philadelphia Foundation Annual Fund. Through these Giving Societies, the College recognizes and honors donors who encourage continued success on both an annual basis and throughout their lives. Each Giving Society offers a variety of benefits, including recognition in College publications and invitations to exclusive events.

Mint Society

The Community College of Philadelphia Foundation recognizes individuals who make gifts of $1,000 or more in a fiscal year (July 1 to June 30) by membership in the Mint Society. 

Gold Society

The Gold Society recognizes donors who support Community College of Philadelphia on an ongoing basis. Membership is granted to those who have made gifts, at any level, for three or more consecutive years including the current fiscal year (July 1 to June 30). 

Rotunda Society

The Rotunda Society was established in 1997 to recognize Community College of Philadelphia’s most generous benefactors. Individuals and organizations whose gifts total $100,000 or more since the Society was founded receive this honor. The Foundation gratefully acknowledges those donors whose gifts as of June 30, 2023 qualify them for membership in the Rotunda Society.

Legacy Society

The Legacy Society recognizes those who have made or pledged a planned gift to support the College’s growth and strong heritage. This Society is comprised of a special group of forward-thinking people who partner with the College in advancing its mission. Various planned giving options, such as bequests and charitable gift annuities, are ways to further personal financial goals and advance the mission of the College.
