Where will you go?
"I plan to take a well-deserved break to relax and recharge since I've been at CCP for a while. During this time, I'll be looking into some good schools to continue my studies so I feel completely refreshed before I head back. It was quite an experience, and I'm glad I got to be a part of this school.

What's your favorite CCP memory?
My favorite memory isn't just one single moment, but the entire journey of meeting people from all walks of life and growing together. From the stressful emotions before a big anatomy midterm to the shared relief of passing, we all had to figure out entirely new ways to study and learn. Experiencing that emotional rollercoaster alongside such a diverse and supportive community made all the late nights and hard work worth it.

Where will you go?
After graduating from CCP with my associate's degree in criminal justice, I look forward to attending either Drexel University to study undergrad law in their co-op program or West Chester University to pursue my bachelor’s in criminal justice to follow my career path as a corporate lawyer.

What's your favorite CCP memory?
My favorite memory of CCP is the life-changing experience that I have obtained after getting involved, as my first participation in an organization on campus was the Vanguard student newspaper, where I served as an editorial journalist and then began volunteering on campus, as a new student orientation ambassador, Phi Theta Kappa honor society member, etc., that allowed me to connect with other students while bestowing valuable insights that I have obtained while attending the college, hoping to inspire and encourage their journey for them to make use of these given opportunities on CCP’s campuses, as these had further connected me to impactful opportunities off-campus, like obtaining an internship with the City of Philadelphia through the CCME program on campus, which will amplify my knowledge as I anticipate further opportunities to assist me in obtaining my aspired career. With that being said, I am looking forward to sharing more motivational words at commencement as the CCP’s class of 2026 student speaker. -Jessica Dobney

My very first day I met a friend, Jenny. We didn’t exchange numbers because we were both in a rush. She was a Nursing student and I didn’t know college had thousands of people, so I told her I will see her on Monday. I never saw her back, but I’ve thought about her ever since. Over the years I came across some very great people. I truly appreciate each and everyone I have crossed paths with.

One of the most profound moments of my CCP journey was meeting Mr. Hayward Bell and witnessing the legacy of his scholarship carried forward by past recipients who remain committed to mentorship and service. It reinforced the power of community and the importance of leaving a path for others to follow. I was also deeply appreciative to personally thank Belinda Pierce and Michael Rice for their continued support. Being selected as one of two recipients from hundreds of applicants made the honor even more meaningful. Receiving that scholarship is a moment that will stay with me for a lifetime.

My respiratory classmates and instructors. We spent the full program together as a cohort. It’s not like registering for a new class each semester and meeting new people each time. It was just us! I’m looking at returning to Temple University, and if I do, I won’t be the same student I was back then. I’ve grown as a filmmaker, a storyteller, and a leader. At the same time, I’m building an entertainment business with my partner, who’s also a DJ, and we’re already booked for the summer. No matter what I decide, I’m stepping into a future I’m creating for myself — one built on purpose, creativity, and the work I’ve already started.

What's your favorite CCP memory?
My favorite CCP memory is this past semester shooting our DVP 210 episodes. We were running on caffeine, deadlines, and pure determination, each of us carrying our own story but still moving like one crew. Whenever someone needed a hand, we were there. Being the last one to film wasn’t pressure for me. It was a blessing. I got to watch every mistake, every fix, every breakthrough, and walk onto my set sharper, steadier, and ready to make it count.

What's your favorite CCP memory?
One of my favorite memories at Community College of Philadelphia has been the sense of community and support I found along the way. From engaging classroom discussions to connecting with classmates and professors, every experience has helped me grow both personally and academically. CCP has given me the opportunity to build meaningful relationships, gain confidence, and take important steps toward my dream of becoming a registered nurse. I will always cherish the memories, lessons, and friendships that have shaped my journey here. Also being able to join a clinical trial conference with my fellow classmates.

One of my favorite memories at CCP was my clinical rotations, where I was able to apply what I learned in class to real patient care. Being in the hospital environment and working alongside technologists made me feel confident and excited about my future career. I also truly enjoyed spending time with my friends, who made the experience even more memorable.

My favorite memories at CCP were from specific projects in Public Speaking, where I demonstrated how to prepare Fufu and Palm nut soup (a local Ghanaian dish) and analyzed the movie "Black Diamond" featuring Djimon Hounsou, Jake McLaughlin, and co during English 101 class with Professor Lauren Genovesi, who gave me tremendous encouragement to believe in myself. I would like to use this opportunity to say a big Thank You to Professor John - Paul Vermitsky and my colleague Kathleen for their support.

After CCP, I plan to continue working as a graphic designer in my current role. I hope to keep growing my passion for art and design while surrounding myself with people who inspire and are positive mentors. I also look forward to volunteering, dedicating more time to my artistic hobbies, and focusing on activities that bring me both fulfillment and happiness.

What's your favorite CCP memory?
My favorite memories at CCP come from my time in the art department. Im grateful to the professors who gave me positive experiences, meaningful feedback, and the motivation to keep improving my work, which meant a lot to me. I especially enjoyed my art history class with Dr. Hahn. She went out of her way to organize First Friday events where students could experience new art each month, something I always looked forward to and a tradition I continue practicing today. I also took several classes with my art professor Sean, who consistently encouraged other students and me to continue pursuing our art education. He was incredibly supportive during portfolio preparation and was always willing to help with any questions, and even gave me a teacher recommendation from him, which meant so much to me as his student. I’m also very grateful for my time in Professor Terry’s graphic design class. He introduced me to Adobe programs and was both attentive and professional throughout the course. Thanks to his guidance, I was able to build valuable skills that helped me succeed and ultimately led me to the job I have today. I’m also happy to have met so many kind and talented students and made friends who inspired and motivated me along the way.
