Intercultural and Global Communication Proficiency Certificate
Description:
This certificate provides students with the skills to communicate effectively across cultures and navigate global media environments. Students explore how identity, power, media, and culture intersect in global and local contexts, preparing them to work in increasingly diverse and international settings. Through coursework in intercultural communication, global studies, and media, students develop cross-cultural competence, media literacy, and an understanding of global interconnectedness.
The Intercultural and Global Communication Proficiency Certificate aligns with the Communication and Media Studies associate degree. Students enrolled in the CMS program can complete the certificate as part of their degree pathway. Additionally, students from other programs at the College can pursue the certificate as a standalone credential or alongside their primary studies. Graduates will be prepared for careers in multicultural organizations, international business, community outreach, media production, public relations, and any field requiring strong intercultural communication and media literacy skills.
