Digital Storytelling Proficiency Certificate
Description:
The Digital Storytelling Proficiency Certificate prepares students to create effective, ethical, and engaging digital media content across platforms. Students develop skills in writing, reporting, social media, photography, video production, and public relations strategy while learning how digital storytelling shapes audiences, communities, and public discourse. The certificate emphasizes both creative production and strategic communication, preparing students for careers in media, marketing, public relations, and community engagement.
This certificate aligns with the Communication and Media Studies associate degree, allowing CMS students to complete the certificate as part of their degree pathway. Students from other programs may also pursue the certificate as a standalone credential or alongside their primary studies. Graduates will be prepared for entry-level roles in digital content creation, social media coordination, marketing communications, public relations support, and media production, as well as for transfer to four-year programs in communication, journalism, media studies, advertising, and digital marketing.
