Women's History Month Luncheon
Faculty, staff and students are invited to a luncheon in honor of Women's History Month, featuring an awards ceremony to recognize our student leaders and a discussion with Jeannine A. Cook, a nationally-known activist, author and founder of Harriet’s Bookshop. Jeannine is the author of "It's Me They Follow" and "Shut Up and Read." A servant leader, cultural architect and literary advocate, she built Harriett’s as a ‘literary sanctuary’ to celebrate women authors, artists and activists while cultivating community through reading. What started as a dream inspired by Harriet Tubman has evolved into living cultural institutions—Harriett’s, Ida’s, Josephine’s, Toni’s, Zora’s— Jeannine’s life work grounds elements of cultural storytelling as a tool for empowerment, interactive healing and collective growth.
