DESCRIPTION:Faculty\, staff and students are invited to a luncheon in honor of Women's History Month\, featuring an awards ceremony to recognize our student leaders and a discussion with Jeannine A. Cook\, a nationally-known activist\, author and founder of Harriet’s Bookshop.&nbsp\;Jeannine is the author of "It's Me They Follow" and "Shut Up and Read." A servant leader\, cultural architect and literary advocate\, she built Harriett’s as a ‘literary sanctuary’ to celebrate women authors\, artists and activists while cultivating community through reading. What started as a dream inspired by Harriet Tubman has evolved into living cultural institutions—Harriett’s\, Ida’s\, Josephine’s\, Toni’s\, Zora’s— Jeannine’s life work grounds elements of cultural storytelling as a tool for empowerment\, interactive healing and collective growth.
