Store Owner Series

This series of FREE workshops provides valuable training for small businesses located in Philadelphia on topics that are practical and relevant for a business owner at any stage. We also provide opportunities for businesses to network with other small businesses in their local community.

We offer workshops at Community College of Philadelphia's Regional Center locations in Northeast and West Philadelphia, as well as at our Main Campus. We also partner with local community organizations to bring select topics into the neighborhoods for added convenience. You have the option of choosing the location and training that are most convenient for you.

Understanding Philadelphia Business Taxes

As you enter the Business tax season, it is important to understand all the latest information on City Business taxes. This workshop covers all the information you need to know about your 2025 and 2026 City business taxes. Information will also be provided by the Revenue Department on where to go to get the answers you need.

From Idea to Income: Design Your Business Model in One Page

This interactive workshop introduces the Business Model Canvas, a visual tool that distills your business into nine key building blocks you can sketch out in a single session. Through real-world examples and time-boxed exercises, you'll explore who you serve, how you reach them, what makes you different, and how you'll make money. Join fellow Philadelphia entrepreneurs to brainstorm, experiment with different approaches, and create a canvas you can use immediately to test and refine your business strategy.

Natasa Borcanin possesses 25 years of combined experience in Government Contracting, small business ownership, international development, human resource management and retail real estate leasing and management. It is exactly this mix of experience that makes Natasa effective in her current role as a Business Opportunity specialist with SBA at the Eastern Pennsylvania District Office.
