CTR 101 - Introduction to Clinical Trial
This Introduction to Clinical Trial course provides foundational knowledge, core competencies, and skills required in the rapidly growing field of clinical research including academia, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology industries. Students cover fundamental concepts and principles of clinical trials, such as the phases of clinical trials, clinical trial design, protection of human subjects, research ethics, regulatory compliance, data collection and management, roles of the clinical research teams, and responsibilities of clinical research organizations.
CTR 201 - Clinical Trial Internship
In the Clinical Trial Internship course, students gain practical work experience at a qualified clinical trial site. Students have the opportunity to apply clinical trial skills and knowledge and learn new scientific technical and soft skills in a supervised occupational setting. Through this experience, students gain an understanding of the importance of ethics, the roles of regulatory bodies, the responsibilities of clinical research personnel, and other typical functions involved in human research trials. These experiences can pave the way for future opportunities for graduates to secure employment in a competitive clinical trial environment. Students complete 210 hours in placement.
