Steps to Applying for Financial Aid

Applying for Financial Aid doesn't have to be complicated. Follow these easy steps and you are on your way!

We've broken down the financial aid process into three simple steps.

Step 1 - Complete the FAFSA

To apply for financial aid you must complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) each academic year. Go to www.studentaid.gov and select "Fill Out a FAFSA Form" to get started. CCP’s school code is 003249. For the College, the priority filing deadline is April 15.

You can complete the FAFSA online and sign it electronically with your FSA ID. Your FAFSA application is used to apply for the Federal Pell Grant, Federal Work Study, FSEOG, Federal Direct Loans and the PA State Grant. Additional steps may be required in order to receive the PA State Grant. The PA State Grant is administered by PHEAA. More information regarding the PA State Grant is found at www.pheaa.org.

Note: Please keep record of your FSA ID. You will need it every year to apply for financial aid and to access Federal Student Aid websites.

Step 2 - Read your Student Aid Report

Once you've completed the FAFSA application, you'll receive a Student Aid Report (SAR) via email. You can also access your SAR by logging back into your FAFSA at www.studentaid.gov. Review your SAR carefully and take any necessary actions.

Step 3 - Check your MyCCP and College Email Accounts

The MyCCP Portal is the College’s primary method of communicating the status of your application, awards and adjustments. You can accept and/or reduce the amount of your loans or Work-Study awards there. Download the MyCCP mobile app to access your account from your phone.

To view your outstanding requirements in MyCCP, follow these steps:

Log into your MyCCP portal
Click on the Student tab at the top
Click on Financial Aid to the right
Click on Status
Click on My Eligibility
Click on Student Requirements
Choose the Aid Year (School Year)
