It is this critical support that fulfills our ambition to further student achievement, bring positive change to our communities and ensure that the College continues providing excellent opportunities to students.

About the Foundation

The Community College of Philadelphia Foundation enhances and enriches the educational experiences of Community College of Philadelphia students by providing external resources to support the College's mission. As its private funding development arm, the Foundation seeks to support the College's mission by bringing together community leaders who will serve as ambassadors broadening the College's image community wide. The Foundation serves the College by creating partnerships with individuals, businesses, organizations and foundations to raise private gifts for scholarships, instructional equipment, professional development and capital needs. The Foundation raises funds through its annual fund campaign, special events programs, and individual and corporate solicitations.

The Foundation's mission is to highlight the College's strategic priorities by attracting philanthropic contributions; raising public awareness of the College’s people and programs; and engaging current and former students, faculty, staff and friends to actively participate in the College’s endeavors.

About Institutional Advancement

The Office of Institutional Advancement (IA) is responsible for advancing the College in the areas of: alumni relations/alumni association, annual giving, corporate and foundation giving, public and private grants, capital campaign, major gifts, planned giving, scholarships, and special fundraising events.    

The Community College of Philadelphia Foundation is under the umbrella of the Office of Institutional Advancement, and as such its activities are coordinated and administered through the Office of Institutional Advancement, with the Vice President of Institutional Advancement serving as the Executive Director of the Foundation.

Donor Recognition

The Giving Societies at Community College of Philadelphia recognize donors who make annual unrestricted gifts to the Community College of Philadelphia Foundation Annual Fund. Through these Giving Societies, the College recognizes and honors donors who encourage continued success on both an annual basis and throughout their lives. Each Giving Society offers a variety of benefits, including recognition in College publications and invitations to exclusive events.

Mint Society

The Community College of Philadelphia Foundation recognizes individuals who make gifts of $1,000 or more in a fiscal year (July 1 to June 30) by membership in the Mint Society. Members renew their support annually and enjoy many exclusive benefits fostering a deeper relationship with the College, including:

  • A subscription to Pathways: The Magazine of Community College of Philadelphia
  • Receipt of the annual President’s Report
  • An invitation to the biannual Pathways Magazine Breakfast
  • An invitation to College events throughout the year
  • An invitation to the annual Mint Society signature event
  • Limited edition Community College of Philadelphia Student Art Calendar
  • Listing in the Community College of Philadelphia Foundation Annual Report, online Donor Honor Roll and Donor projection in Bonnell Building lobby

Gold Society

The Gold Society recognizes donors who support Community College of Philadelphia on an ongoing basis. Membership is granted to those who have made gifts, at any level, for five or more consecutive years including the current fiscal year (July 1 to June 30). Gold Society donors renewing their gifts each year enjoy many benefits that enrich their connection with the College, including:

  • An invitation to the annual Gold Society recognition event (for those who have given for 5+ years)
  • A subscription to Pathways: The Magazine of Community College of Philadelphia
  • Limited edition Community College of Philadelphia Student Art Calendar
  • Listing in the Community College of Philadelphia Foundation Annual Report, online Donor Honor Roll and Donor projection in Bonnell Building lobby

Foundation Legacy Circle

The Community College of Philadelphia Foundation encourages its supporters to become members of the Foundation Legacy Circle by making a lasting, planned gift to support the College’s growth and strong heritage. As a Foundation Legacy Circle member, you join a special group of forward-thinking people who partner with us in planning for the future. Your planned gift lets us know that vital resources are “in the pipeline” to help Community College of Philadelphia fulfill its mission for the next generation.

With a gift of $10,000 or more, you can create your legacy by, for example, endowing a scholarship, funding a program enhancement or purchasing a book collection for the library. Please consider the College’s various planned giving gift options, such as bequests and charitable gift annuities, as ways to further your personal financial goals and advance the mission of the College.
