I have a TS hold on my record. What does this mean?

You are required to provide an OFFICIAL college transcript. Please submit your transcript to the Transfer Credit & Placement Office located on the Main Campus, Mint Building, Ground Floor, Room 17 (MG-17) or any of the Regional Centers. How can a transfer student be exempt from the placement test?

Please refer to the College's Placement Test page for a listing of test waiver options.

Who receives a transcript evaluation?

Students who seek to transfer courses from another college/university for obtaining a degree or certificate at Community College of Philadelphia.

How can I request a transcript evaluation?

Log into MyCCP. Click the Student tab and access the Admissions Forms located in the Electronic Forms Channel. Complete and submit the Transcript Evaluation Request form for processing.

Can I receive a transcript evaluation on-the-spot?

No. Assessment of college-level English and/or college-level math may be performed on-the-spot.

What is the processing time for transcript evaluations?

Upon receipt of ALL OFFICIAL college transcripts for schools listed on the evaluation form, processing time is approximately two weeks. During peak periods, processing time may be longer than expected.

Is it possible for me to register for classes prior to receiving a transcript evaluation?

Yes. A review of an unofficial or official college transcript for assessing course prerequisite completion can be made to permit registration of classes.

If I submit an OFFICIAL copy of my college transcript, will it be automatically evaluated for transfer credit?

No. College transcripts are ONLY evaluated upon submission of the Transcript Evaluation Request form by the student.

Will I receive notification when my transcript evaluation request is complete?

Yes. An automatic email is sent to the students' MyCCP email upon completion. Students are required to review their MyCCP email for all communications pertaining to their request.

Upon submission of the Transcript Evaluation Request form, what are the criteria for evaluating my college transcript?

Transcripts received from prior colleges/universities are evaluated based on the intended degree/certificate of completion as indicated on the Transcript Evaluation Request form.

What should I do if I believe additional credits should be transferred from my college transcript?

Contact Melissa Genao at magenao@ccp.edu AND include your name, student ID# (J#), and requested course(s) for transfer credit.

Can official transcripts be sent via email?

Yes. Official transcripts sent electronically MUST be sent DIRECTLY from the college/university to traneval@ccp.edu.

I have taken courses at colleges/universities located outside of the United States. How will these courses be evaluated?

Courses taken at colleges/universities located outside of the United States MUST be evaluated for U.S. equivalency prior to receiving a transcript evaluation from Community College of Philadelphia. Access the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) for a listing of approved agencies. Upon completion, follow the steps for obtaining a transcript evaluation.
