The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Pre-Apprenticeship program prepares participants for entry-level employment in manufacturing careers, and for seamless entry into the Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Registered Apprenticeship Program or continued education. The program includes classroom instruction and national industry-recognized certification.
The program teaches the critical skills needed to find and keep employment in the industrial manufacturing field, including skills in hydraulics, industrial electricity, mechanical components, and programmable logic controls. These skills are covered in the program through the following courses:
- Foundations of Industry 4.0 (12 hours)
- Intro to Mechatronics (60 hours)
- Electricity 1 (45 hours)
- Applied Hydraulics, Pneumatics & Hydrostatic (75 hours)
- Mechanical Systems 1 (75 hours)
- Winning Work Habits (6 hours)
Participants will Receive individualized career counseling and support with resume development, job searching, and interview preparation. Participants will also receive support in identifying and applying to open entry-level manufacturing positions.
Upon completion of the program, participants will receive a certificate of program completion, and will be enrolled to take the Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies (PMMI Mechatronics level 1 certification examination as well as the ACT National Career Readiness Certification examination.
