Elisa King, a Counselor at the College, shares the history of her family’s journey from slavery in the United States to emigration as freed slaves to Samana in the Dominican Republic. She will discuss the Philadelphia-Samana connection and what it is like to come full circle. AfroLatinx people are as diverse as their stories.

Charito Morales, community organizer at the Providence Center and Gilberto Gonzalez, senior graphic designer at the College and host of Entre Nosotros, will cover how hurricane Maria has impacted the island of Puerto Rico and the status of Puerto Ricans in Pennsylvania.
