Shades of Yale's music celebrates the Black experience through music of the African Diaspora. On their website they explain, "We acknowledge and accept that we are endowed with both the responsibility and the privilege of giving a voice to the voiceless, and we aim to do so through the richness of our repertoire with its power to inspire and unite us and our audiences."

The Music Department Presents: The Audition Experience

In this masterclass, students will perform a mock audition for a panel of industry professionals who will critique their performance, give suggestions and provide insight to the experience of auditioning. Participants will be guided on everything from song selection to attire. Panelists include LaTasha Morris (Opera Philadelphia), Julian King (The Voice) and Hannah Timm (SMASH Show Co., QVC).  The masterclass will be hosted by Music faculty member Calli Graver.
