JUSR 201 - Restorative Justice Facilitation

3-0-3
Credit Hours: 3

This experiential learning course provides skill-building for hosting restorative dialogues. Through roleplay and debriefing, students practice three aspects of restorative work: pre-dialogue preparation and assessment, dialogue facilitation, and post-dialogue mentoring and support. Students develop the necessary skills and reflective practices to host restorative circles that build community, respond to community concerns, and reintegrate community members. Students also develop the skills and reflective practices needed to plan and implement restorative conferences to respond to crime and policy violations.
