The Cognition and Learning course explores cognition and learning in children and adolescents. Factors that affect learning such as: motivation, culture, gender, family and community are studied. Students also examine current research linked to best teaching practices. A 10-hour field experience is embedded in this course. Students enrolled in this course must have up-to-date child abuse, criminal and FBI clearances, as detailed under the Pennsylvania Child Protective Services Law.
ED 105 or ED 201 either with a grade of "C" or better, PSYC 101, may be taken concurrently, and ENGL 102 with a grade of "C" or better.
