The Practicum II course builds on students’ skills and knowledge through immersive, supervised experiential learning across diverse agency settings to continue to prepare them for entry-level practice. Over the course of 125 hours, students apply theoretical knowledge to micro, mezzo, and macro-level practice while developing core competencies in ethical decision-making, trauma-informed care, cultural humility, and systems navigation. Under the guidance of both academic and agency supervisors, students critically engage with emerging best practices and evolving service modalities—including in-person, hybrid, and telehealth formats—to strengthen their professional identity, communication skills, and advocacy capacity in real-world contexts. Students must confirm their agency placement with the Practicum Coordinator 4 weeks before the semester they are enrolled.
