ART 205 - Modern American Art

This course is a survey of American art, including painting, sculpture, architecture, photography, film and mixed media. Students examine influences from both 19th-century America and 20th-century Europe. The course includes various contexts, such as modern psychology and sociology, as they affect trends in American art and culture. The course also includes excursions to art galleries and museums, as well as guest lecturers.
