Alumni Achievement Award
TUESDAY GORDON
Manager/Buyer, Joan Shepp

Tuesday Gordon is one of the most influential fashion professionals in Philadelphia and on the east coast. After nearly four decades, Tuesday is at the forefront of the industry and many of the city’s most stylish people turn to her when it comes to fashion.

Her career began with positions at The Limited, Joan and David, and Toby Lerner. For the past 20 years, she has held dual roles as buyer and manager at Joan Shepp, a Philadelphia institution. She was also the stylist for the television program “You Bet Your Life.” An avid traveler, her trips around the globe have enhanced her unique fashion sense.

Nineteen years ago, Tuesday founded “Celebrating Women of Substance and Style,” an annual Black History Month event to honor black women who make a difference. It has grown into a highly anticipated event with a portion of ticket sales donated to charity. Tuesday has also raised money for Hurricane Katrina victims, and is a volunteer for Planned Parenthood and the Women’s Medical Fund. She also volunteered for President Obama and Hillary Clinton’s campaigns, and has been a speaker and mentor at Moore College and Drexel University.
