Child Development Associate

Community College of Philadelphia and The Pennsylvania Child Care/Early Childhood Development Training System announce the start of our 2022 Child Development Associate workshops.

This 120-hour course is designed to enhance the quality of child care by defining, evaluating and recognizing the competence of child care providers. A CDA is awarded by the National Council for Professional Recognition, to individuals who demonstrate a full understanding of child development and the assessment process. These CDA workshops meet the level A requirements on the PA Key's Career Pathway. For more information about the PA Key's Career Pathway, go to www.PAkeys.org

We are offering two free CDA classes in the Fall 2022 semester starting in November. Please see below for specific class dates and times.

A Child Development Associate (CDA) designation from the National Council for Professional Recognition is awarded to a person who demonstrates full understanding of child development and the assessment process.

Our CDA courses this semester are being offered as “online hybrid courses” encompassing twenty online learning modules and twenty Zoom class meetings. Students registering for hybrid courses should be computer savvy and have access to a computer with reliable internet access.

These CDA courses are funded by the Public Health Management Corporation through the ECE PDO @ PHMC.
