Our Accounting Program will teach you the math, organization and communication skills necessary for beginning a career as a junior accountant, accounting trainee, accounts receivable or accounts payable technician, or tax examiner. You will learn how to: understand financial statements prepared according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP); use general ledger software that is standard in the field; learn managerial and cost accounting concepts; interpret financial statements to make accurate economic decisions; and effectively present financial information through verbal and written communications.

The following courses and sequence of courses is designed for the optimal success and completion of the Accounting degree/certificate. Any alterations should be discussed with your academic advisor.

Students who enter the College at the MATH 161 - Precalculus I level or higher can complete this program in 62 credits. Students who enter the College at a lower level on the Math placement exam will need to take FNMT 118 - Intermediate Algebra, and thus will need 65 credits to graduate.

A grade point average of 2.0 ("C" average) is required for graduation.

Students who wish to take courses that differ from the general education courses indicated above must complete a course substitution request form. To access the form, login to the MyCCP portal, and in the Student tab, under Electronic Forms, click on the Records and Registration Forms link, then choose Request For Course Substitution Of Graduation Requirement link.
