Transforming Spaces and Places for Success

Transforming Spaces and Places for Success
2020–2021 ANNUAL REPORT

The College’s redesigned Library and Learning Commons on Main Campus is nearing completion and opened in Fall 2021. The expanded space will have readily available support services, multimedia rooms, multi-use spaces for study, a café, and a collaborative makerspace where students and faculty can gather to develop creative projects using a variety of tools and materials.

From the Ann Hill Donor Advised Fund, the Hill family supported the Library and Learning Commons with a $50,000 gift naming the Ann Hill Makerspace. The gift honors the late Ann Hill, the daughter of the late Louis G. Hill, former Common Pleas Court Judge and state senator. “Ann knew the value of community college education in her own life, and the importance of hands-on creative endeavors,” said Tom Hill, one of Ann’s six siblings, about the makerspace.

In memory of their parents, siblings Don Kligerman and Carol Robinson named the Bernice and Jerome Kligerman One Button Studio in the enhanced Library and Learning Commons. The space is a meaningful tribute for their parents since they both loved libraries. The fully-featured digital video production studio is easy to use, requiring no prior video production experience.
