Community College of Philadelphia to Host Veterans Day Event

The in-person event will pay tribute to military veterans at the College and across the nation 

 

PHILADELPHIA – Community College of Philadelphia will host a Veterans Day event to pay tribute to the nearly 19 million U.S. military veterans across the nation. The in-person event will take place 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 11 at the Veterans Resource Center on the ground floor of the Bonnell Building, 1700 Spring Garden Street, Philadelphia, PA 19123. The main entrance to the Bonnell Building can be accessed on 17th Street between Spring Garden and Callowhill Streets. 

 

During the event, remarks will be provided by Dr. Donald “Guy” Generals, College president; Stephen Bachovin, Air Force Veteran and coordinator for the College’s Veterans Resource Center; Dr. Darren Lipscomb, Army Veteran and associate vice president for Enrollment Management; Carl W. Randolph, Sr., Navy Veteran, Philadelphia Fire Department Fire Deputy Chief, and coordinator for the College’s Fire Science Program; and alumni veterans.

Please note that all visitors entering College facilities, including media, must present proof of vaccination and a valid photo ID, or take an on-site rapid COVID-19 test. Valid forms of identification include a driver’s license, state photo ID card, passport, or military ID. When arriving to campus, please factor in time to check into campus facilities. Masks are required for anyone entering a College facility, regardless of vaccination status.
