Community College of Philadelphia’s Men’s Basketball Team Advances to NJCAA Region XIX Championship Game

The Lions will host the region XIX championship game against Brookdale Community College at 2PM Sat., Feb. 26 

PHILADELPHIA – Community College of Philadelphia’s men’s basketball team yesterday delivered an upset to Northampton Community College with a final score of 71-57.  

The Lions will host the National Junior College Athletic Association’s (NJCAA) Region XIX championship game against Brookdale Community College at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26 in the College’s Athletics Center, 1700 Spring Garden Street, Philadelphia, PA 19130. The main entrance to the Athletics Center is on 17th Street, between Spring Garden and Callowhill Streets.  

If they defeat Brookdale Community College, the Lions will advance to the NJCAA Division III championship.  

Yesterday, the College announced that Ryan Holmes was selected as this season’s Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (EPAC) men’s basketball Player of the Year. Holmes, along with Isaac Marshall were named to the men’s First Team All-Conference. Nizja Faison was named to the men’s Second Team All-Conference. The EPAC is made up of 13 NJCAA member Colleges in Pennsylvania and Delaware. 

While the NJCAA Region XIX championship game will be open to spectators, individuals can cheer on the Lions via the online broadcast.
