Edwards averaged 24 points per game, Holmes is averaging 14 points per game for the Lions
PHILADELPHIA – The Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (EPAC) has announced the 2022 women’s and men’s All-Conference Basketball Teams for Division III. Community College of Philadelphia’s Azori Edwards and Ryan Holmes were announced as this season’s Players of the Year for women’s and men’s basketball respectively.
Edwards averaged 24 points and 9 rebounds per game for the Lions, who finished second in the conference standings. Holmes is currently averaging 14 points and almost 5 rebounds per game this season. Holmes and the College’s men’s basketball team will play in the semifinals starting Thursday, Feb. 24.
“The College is excited that both our men’s and women’s basketball teams are represented in the EPAC First and Second Team All-Conferences this season,” said Rogers Glispy, Community College of Philadelphia Athletics Director. “We are even more pleased that Azori Edwards and Ryan Holmes are this season’s basketball players of the year. These recognitions are only possible because of the dedication of our coaches and athletics coordinators, as well as the commitment each team puts in on and off the court.”
Edwards, along with Jayla Henderson, were named to the women’s First Team All-Conference, while Rachel Fountain was named to the women’s Second Team All-Conference. Holmes, along with Isaac Marshall were named to the men’s First Team All-Conference. Nizja Faison was named to the men’s Second Team All-Conference.
The EPAC is made up of 13 NJCAA member Colleges in Pennsylvania and Delaware. The College’s men’s basketball team advanced to the semifinals and will play at Northampton Community College at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24. The game will be broadcast on the Northampton Sports Network.
