Scholars in Service to PA

If you are interested in an exciting opportunity and love doing service with your community, the Scholars in Service Program is for you. Complete 450 community service hours and receive a $1250.00 Education Award.

Scholars in Service to Pennsylvania allows participants to perform 450 hours of community service over a one-year period and receive a $1,250 award that can be used for educational expenses. For information regarding the Scholars In Service Program contact the Office of Student Life, S1-19.

An additional added plus is this AmeriCorps program can be combined but not limited to work with Off-Campus Work-Study, Adopt-A-School program. Together, the two programs allow students with financial need to earn money for a range of costs as they attend classes. The projects they become involved with make a difference in the communities they serve.

All of the Off-Campus Work-Study hours count toward the 450-hour Scholar commitment. The award can be used for current costs, ones incurred in the/future, as well as to repay student loans. The Office of Student Life would like to congratulate the new Scholars. These Scholars will complete 450 service hours during this one-year long program.

Congratulations to Antwanette Scruggs-Beard & LaJuan Young on completing the 450-hour Scholar commitment
