Attending college is more than just going to class.Students are strongly encouraged to become actively involved in the extracurricular life of the College. Involvement could mean a variety of things:Involvement could be: playing in our Jazz Band, lending the Student Government Association your vote of confidence or earning a spot in Phi Theta Kappa---the prestigious international honor society for two-year colleges---or it could be helping out with any of the student clubs or writing for our student newspaper, the Vanguard. Getting involved in extracurricular activities is encouraged. However, academic coursework should always be the main focus of a student's experience at Community. For this reason, students involved in extracurricular activities are expected to maintain at least a 2.0 grade point average (C average).
