About Leads

Philadelphia L.E.A.D.S. is a student leadership and development program for students at Community College of Philadelphia. Our goal is to empower students in order to help them identify gifts and talents, develop leadership abilities, actualize visions and realize career goals while becoming positive contributors to society.

This yearlong initiative uses a three-pronged approach to student leadership development:

  • Motivation: Achieved through exposure to invited speakers at Monthly Power Sessions. For a complete list of Monthly Power Session Meetings, click here!

  • Skills Building: Accomplished by attending workshops, events, retreats, and conferences.

  • Practice: Achieved by using learning skills and participating in one or more sub-committees to organize and manage events/activities.

Structured activities are events that you will have a chance to manage, including bringing major speakers and events to campus, organizing an athletic pep rally, planning the College's annual Spring Fling, organizing a book drive for the community or any activity you would like to see take place. There will be at least one motivation, one skill building, and one practice event each month.
