TUITION REMISSION FOR COMMUNITY COLLEGE OF PHILADELPHIA FULL-TIME EMPLOYEES AND THEIR SPOUSES AND CHILDREN FOR COURSES TAKEN AT THE COMMUNITY COLLEGE OF PHILADELPHIA

                 At the meeting of June 6, 1974, the Board of Trustees adopted the following Policy for Tuition Remission for CCP full-time employees and their spouses and children for courses taken at the Community College of Philadelphia:

 

Full-Time Contract Faculty

 

            All full-time faculty and all full-time administrative officers are entitled to 100% remission of tuition and 100% remission of general fees for academic work taken by themselves.  Their spouses and dependent children are also entitled to receive 100% remission of tuition and fees.

 

Staff Personnel

 

            Regular full-time, non-probationary classified employees are entitled to full remission of tuition and fees for up to two (2) courses per semester, or three with the approval of the employee's supervisor.  An employee's spouse and children are also entitled to full remission of tuition and fees for courses taken at the College.

 

Guidelines and Limitations

 

1)         Administrators, classified personnel, and Ranks I and III will not take courses during their regular working hours without the permission of their supervisors.

 

2)         All applicants for tuition remission must satisfy the regularly applied admission standards of the College.

 

3)         First priority in admission of students to classes with limited space must be accorded those who are paying the full tuition.

 

4)         The term "dependent children" shall mean natural born children, stepchildren, and legally adopted children who are still listed as dependents for income tax purposes.  Spouse of the aforementioned dependents and grandchildren of employees are not eligible for tuition remission benefits.

 

5)         Application forms for tuition remission may be secured from the Office of Human Resources, Room M2-3.
