Institution & Program Effectiveness

As stated in College's Strategic Plan, Community College of Philadelphia is committed to documenting quality, innovation, and effectiveness in the delivery of its programs. In support of this standard, the Office of Institutional Research developed a set of indicators that can be used to assess the effectiveness of the College in fulfilling aspects of its Mission. The information on this web page along with the College Fact Book and IR Reports provides a broad set of assessment data to support evaluation activities at the College.

The effectiveness indicators examine five broad areas of mission: 1) Workforce Development; 2) Transfer Preparation; 3) Student Persistence, Goal Attainment, and Assessment of Collegiate Experiences; 4) Community Outreach; and 5) Cost Efficiency, Resource Usage and Resource Development. Multiple indicators are provided for each of the five areas and information for each indicator is provided across several points in time. The effectiveness information has several sources that include institutional databases and student surveys.

In addition to institution-wide effectiveness indicators, a parallel set of indicators have been developed for the College's academic programs.
