About this Tutorial

The diagram on the left shows the chart that will appear on the side of your screen throughout the tutorial. This will give you some idea how much material you have covered as you read through the lessons.

At various points in the tutorial you will encounter words in unusual fonts. Text like this represents a word for which a definition is available. Simply click on the word and a popup box with the definition inside will appear.

Text LIKE THIS indicates the name of a publication. Click on the text and you will see a photograph of that publication in your browser.

Many of the the tutorial pages end with a brief bibliography of additional print and electronic sources relevant to the subject of the page. The blue links in the bibliographies will open a second browser window to display the cited material.

To move between the pages, use the buttons at the bottom of each page. The button will take you back one page, and the button will move you forward.
