Nobel Foundation This is the official site of the Nobel Foundation which awards prizes in physics, chemistry,
physiology or medicine, literature, and peace. Site includes winners from 1901 (plus a
searchable database)biographical info on the awardees, information on the selection process,

Counties in the United States is maintained by the National Association of Counties. Pick a state from the drop-down
menu or use the image map of the US. You'll get a list of counties in that state along with its 2000 population and its
size in square miles. Click on a county name and you'll get a link to that county's site (if available), contact information
for the county seat, county populations is 1980, 1990, and 2000, and a list of the county's elected officials. Sometimes e-mail addresses for county officials are included as well. Country Studies from the Library
of Congress, the Country Studies present a description and analysis of the historical setting

Map Collections: 1500-1999 - The homepage of the Geography and Map Division of the Library of Congress provides
digital access to selections from more than 4.5 million items, of which Map Collections
represents only a small fraction. The focus of Map Collections is Americana and Cartographic Treasures of the Library
of Congress. These images were created from maps and atlases and, in general,
are restricted to items that are not covered by copyright protection. The collection

The new National Atlas, from the
U.S. Dept. of the Interior, includes products and services designed to

Statistics
Bureau of Labor Statistics As a division of the U.S.
Department of Labor, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) web site presents
up-to-date U.S. economic statistical information in a comprehensive and clearly
organized format. Information is arranged under broad categories such as
"Inflation and Spending" and "International Statistics."
The latest numbers for the Consumer Price Index, unemployment rate and the
Producer Price Index are prominently positioned on the home page. The BLS site
provides past and current statistics for the U.S. economy as a whole, but
individual state economic data can be obtained easily by clicking the state on
a color-coded map. The gem of this web site is the "Economy at a

Commonwealth of PA-Division of
Health Statistics collects and maintains data to assist in planning,
administrating and evaluating the health status of Pennsylvania. Note: Some of the
