Dr. Virginia Carter, Provost, Delaware County Community College
Virginia Carter is currently Provost at Delaware County Community College. As the Chief Academic Officer, she also is responsible for Student Affairs, Community and Corporate Education, Workforce Development and Academic Computing. She has over 31 years in the field of higher education administration. Prior to coming to DCCC, Ginny worked for nearly 26 years at Temple University in a variety of capacities and on three of the University's campuses. Her positions there included: Associate Vice President for Continuing Education; Acting Dean of the Ambler campus; Acting Director of the Center City Campus; Associate Dean for the Ambler Campus; Senior Associate Dean of the College of Education; Associate Dean for the Evening, Summer and Weekend Division; Director of Student Services; and part time, graduate faculty in the College of Education. She describes working at DCCC as "coming home" and a return to the values of access and opportunity.
Dr. Carter's M.Ed. and Ed.D. are in the area of Adult and Continuing Education from Rutgers University. Her undergraduate degree is in English/Education from SUNY College at Cortland.
Dr. Gregory Bovasso, Assistant Professor, Behavioral Science, Community College of Philadelphia
Gregory Bovasso has been an Assistant Professor in the Behavioral Sciences Department of the Community College of Philadelphia since 2002. He received his doctorate in psychology from the City University of New York in 1989. Subsequently, he taught at Del Mar College, a community college in Corpus Christi, Texas from 1993-1997, and was later a postdoctoral fellow in psychiatric epidemiology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health. Prior to his position at CCP, he was an Assistant Professor at the Treatment Research Center of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Dr. Bovasso has published articles on substance abuse and mental health treatment evaluation.

Ms. Sandra Tannen, Assistant Professor, Mathematics and Chair, Academic Skills Math Department, Camden County College
Sandra Tannen holds a B.A. in Education and an M.S. in Mathematics Education from Brooklyn College. She joined the staff of Camden County College in 1987 as an adjunct faculty member. She is currently the chairperson of the Developmental Math Department. In addition to her work at Camden County College, Sandra has run a successful private tutoring service for fifteen years, specializing in SAT preparation, study skills, time management and mathematics instruction for middle school, high school and college students. She is an active member of the American Mathematics Association of Two-Year Colleges (AMATYC), the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) and the National Association for Developmental Education (NADE). Sandra won the Camden County College Faculty Fellowship Award in 2003 for her research in student retention.

Dr. Evon Walters, Vice President of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, Montgomery County Community College
Evon Walters is the Vice President of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management at Montgomery County Community College. He brings over 14 years of experience in Student Affairs. He previously served as the Vice President of Student Services at Onondaga Community College (OCC) in Syracuse, New York. Additionally, he has served as chairperson of the education department at Olivet College in Michigan, Dean of Multicultural Affairs at Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts and as a Research Assistant at the University at Massachusetts at Amherst. His alma mater is the University of Massachusetts, where he completed his doctorate and a Master's degree in higher education administration, as well as a Bachelor's degree in health care administration.
Dr. Walters has published several articles concerning institutional transformation, student retention, and culture and equity issues in higher education.
Dr. Marvin Bright, Dean of Students, Community College of Philadelphia (Moderator)
Marvin L. Bright brings to the College nearly 10 years of experience in teaching, research and administrative responsibilities in higher education. He began his community college career as an assistant professor of Psychology and Teacher Education at Community College of Baltimore County. He used those skills to move into administration at Towson State University. After serving in various administrative roles, including project and athletic director, he accepted a position as Director of Support Services and Community Relations at Cecil Community College in Maryland. Prior to joining the College, he was a senior research associate at Morgan State University.
Dr. Bright has been a principal investigator for research projects titled, "Non-Cognitive Factors that Impact Attrition Rates of African-American Students Attending Community Colleges," "Learning First Paradigm in the Classroom" and "Student Engagement: Learning-Centered Student Activities."
