During professional development week last month, many of you attended a workshop aimed at promoting inquiry-flavored, activity based classroom learning. The second event in our four-event series will take place in room W4-37 on February 19, 2004, 2:00 - 4:00 pm, when faculty from various disciplines will lead workshop participants through inquiry-based learning activities that have been used successfully in CCP classrooms.

The third workshop in the series, followed by an evening at the theatre, has been scheduled for Thursday March 11, 2004. On that afternoon, a final round of classroom activity workshops (4:00-6:00 pm) will be followed by a light dinner (6:00 - 7:00 pm) and then the play (8:00 pm). Faculty who have participated in either of the first two workshops will be welcome to reserve a space and join us, together with a guest, for that evening's performance of "Proof" at the Arden theatre (space permitting - we have ordered 44 tickets). A compendium of participants' classroom activity write-ups will be distributed later in the semester.
