The Importance of Saving the Pell Grant Program
Pell grants are the nation’s largest federal grant program for low-income college students. They help approximately 9 million people pay for their educations each year and more than 80 percent of all funds are awarded to individuals with family incomes under $30,000. The current maximum annual award for a Pell grant is $5,550.
