Christine James Brown, President of United Way International, Is Commencement Speaker at Community College of Philadelphia's 38th Commencement

Christine James-Brown, President and CEO of United Way, Int'l, will deliver the commencement address to nearly 1,750 students at Community College of Philadelphia's 38th Graduation.

James-Brown was named President and CEO of United Way Int'l on March 1, 2004 after nearly 10 years as president and CEO of United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania.

A native Philadelphian, she serves on the Board of Community College of Philadelphia, the Samuel S. Fels Fund, the Christopher Ludwick Foundation, Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, Citizens Bank, Public/Private Ventures and the Pennsylvania Bar Association Judicial Evaluation Commission.

James-Brown holds a B.A. in cultural anthropology from Rutgers University and has completed graduate work at Brown University. In 1996, Drexel University awarded her an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters.
