Creative Writing Contest for High School Seniors at Community College of Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA, PA, February 24, 2004 - Philadelphia area high school seniors are invited to participate in Community College of Philadelphia's creative writing contest. The contest was created by the College to encourage awareness among high school seniors of the College's Creative Writing Program and its widely-published faculty. Winners will receive one free course at the College, which can be taken during the senior year of high school. They also will have the opportunity to do a reading of their work at a College awards reception. Winners will also edit Limited Editions, the College's Literary Magazine.

Entries will be judged in three categories: fiction, poetry, and drama. Students can compete in more than one category. Entries are limited to up to two stories for fiction, two plays for drama, and up to three poems.

Deadline for entry is March 8, 2004 and the award ceremony and reading will take place on March 25, 2004, at the Community College of Philadelphia. To obtain an entry form and brochure on the contest, contact Patti Savoni at 215-751-8195 or psavoni@ccp.edu
