Free Dental Exam and Sealants for Children 6-12 at Community College of Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA, PA, January 16, 2004 - Community College of Philadelphia's Dental Hygiene Clinic will provide free dental exams and place clear, protective sealants on children's permanent back teeth on February 7 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The sealants protect from cavities and are free for children ages 6-12. The clinic is located at 1800 Spring Garden Street. Parents should call (215) 751-8625 to make an appointment.

This community outreach program is part of the Pennsylvania Dental Hygienists' Association's (PDHA) first statewide "Sealant Saturday." A primary mission of the PDHA is to improve the public's total health by ensuring access to quality, cost-effective health care.

The College's Dental Hygiene Clinic also offers free teeth cleaning to the public during the spring and fall semesters. Patients are not required to have insurance, but must call ahead at (215) 751-8625 to schedule the three-hour appointment. General hours of operation are 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, but times may vary.
