Student Benefits
Grants and Scholarships Help Offset Expenses
More than 800 students benefited from $1,200,428 in scholarships granted by the College Foundation and those coordinated by the Office of Institutional Advancement. Without scholarships and grants provided by the Community College of Philadelphia Foundation, some students would be unable to pursue the path to a new job, skill or career.

A Nursing student incurs additional expenses beyond tuition, including textbooks, uniforms, shoes, a stethoscope and other medical equipment, student liability insurance, health insurance, CPR certification, transportation to clinical sites, criminal background checks, licensing exam fees and a review course fee.

To help offset the costs of a nursing education, the Community College of Philadelphia Foundation offers scholarships for Nursing students. The Pennsylvania Higher Education Foundation, The Independence Foundation and Independence Blue Cross also offer nursing scholarships.
Nursing students also benefit from federal grant-funded programs, including Bridges to the Baccalaureate, a partnership with Drexel University, and Scholarships for Disadvantaged Students, which is based on income level and other criteria.
