Continuing Legal Education for Paralegals and Attorneys
The Center offers accredited continuing education sessions for both attorneys and paralegals.
Training in Law-related Areas for Other Professionals and Interested Groups
The College offers training on legal issues for supervisors and other professionals in the private and public sectors. Past sessions have included training for
municipal managers, prison supervisors and private industry on legal issues in the workplace.
Law and Society Week
This annual week of events held in late February includes interdisciplinary lectures, symposia and legal information sessions. All sessions are free and open
to the public.
Faculty Development and Student Research Projects
The Center supports faculty and student collaboration and research and provides a rich learning environment. Past research projects include a student
sociological research project conducted in conjunction with the College's study abroad program in Costa Rica.
Separate activities for faculty on the integration of law and society topics into the curricula are scheduled throughout the year to encourage interdisciplinary
collaboration and innovation.
Innovative Programmatic Offerings Including Evening, Accelerated, Online, Hybrid and Off-site Courses
Academic programs encompassed within the Center have been leaders at the College in offering courses through innovative formats to accommodate student needs.
The Resource Center
A number of resources to serve students, faculty, professionals and the general public on issues of legal and societal interests are available. A Speaker Series
brings professionals from a variety of law-related fields to the campus throughout the academic year. The Speakers' Bureau offers the expertise of the Center's
faculty to journalists and groups seeking speakers. Symposia on legal and societal issues are sponsored on a regular basis. The Center Web site provides
up-to-date links to a multitude of legal resources. The Center also encourages excellence in academic achievement through a number of Awards.
