Counseling Department

The Community College of Philadelphia Counseling Center offers free counseling services to all students. Staffed by professional counselors, the Center provides educational, career and personal counseling to both individuals and groups. Counselors also assist students and graduates who wish to continue their education at other institutions. Information discussed in counseling is kept strictly confidential.

Counselors will assist you with a variety of topics:

Career Selection

  • Application to select programs
  • How to obtain information on occupations
  • How to make a decision about a career

Educational Matters

  • Course selection
  • Problems with instructors
  • Withdrawal from school or dropping classes

Personal situations and other concerns that affect your education or academic performance.

Walk-ins and Appointments
The Counseling Center, located in Room BG-07, offers drop-in counseling services to students who need quick answers or help with immediate concerns. Students without an appointment can see a counselor on a first-come, first-served basis for a 15-minute session.

Students who need more time with a counselor can make an appointment for an individual, private counseling session.

Northeast Regional Center

In addition, the Counseling Department has developed courses to teach you essential planning and decision-making skills necessary for college and career success.
