
Scholarships and Awards in English and Writing
College Achievement Partnership (CAP) Award
The CAP Award is funded by the College Foundation and presented
to students participating in the College's CAP program. Recipients are
chosen by the CAP literary magazine editorial board, which is composed
of students, staff and faculty. The top-ranking submissions are awarded
this cash scholarship. Recipients are recognized at an annual ceremony

English Department Book Prizes
The English Department Book Prizes are awarded to students who
have demonstrated abilities in expository and research-based writing,
primarily to honor students for their excellent academic essays and research
papers. Students are recognized at the College's Academic Awards Ceremony
and receive bound books to support their continued growth as writers.

Judith Stark Creative Writing Contest Awards
The Judith Stark Creative Writing Contest was founded in memory
of Judith Stark, a faculty member in the English department who had a
special love for writing. The awards are funded through an endowment established
by the Stark family and contributions from College faculty and friends.
This contest awards cash prizes to recognize the best student writing
in fiction, poetry and dramatic writing. Cash awards are presented at
the College's Academic Awards Ceremony. For more information, contact
