Track 1 - Starting a Business
This track focuses on the needs of the new business owner. The training begins with an overview of the opportunities and challenges of entrepreneurship as well as helping the individual assess his or her opportunity. The second workshop is an in-depth examination of the business plan process and detailed instructions and resources for creating an effective business plan that enhances potetial success of the entrepreneurial venture.
Both courses must be completed to receive a certificate for the Starting a Business track.
The two courses in Track 1 are:
Becoming a Business Owner - 3 hours; $65
This workshop introduces the prospective entrepreneur to the opportunities, possibilities and challenges of entrepreneurship, and provides the student with the tools to properly self-assess whether they have the attributes and traits required for entrepreneurship. Becoming a business owner is designed to be an interactive training program that serves as a pre-requisite for developing a business plan.

Creating Your Business Plan - 27 hours; $400
Developing a solid business plan is the first step in helping to ensure the success of any business venture, this is especially true of small business start-ups. Creating Your Business Plan will provide new entrepeneurs with detailed instructions on creating a high quality business plan. This workshop will explain the importance of creating and using a business plan. Additionally, this workshop will examine the specific elements which must be included in the business plan. 27 hours (2.7 CEUs)
