Academic Advising

The Academic Advising Center at Community College of Philadelphia is dedicated to providing services that will help students achieve their academic goals. We invest time and energy in finding the best ways for you to have a meaningful learning experience.

We also perform the important function of supporting the needs of academic advisors. The Center offers up-to-date guidance and training to help advisors provide the best possible service to students

Our Student Services
Academic advising is provided to students in all programs of study at the College. Advisors give assistance to students in good academic standing, meaning students who are not on academic probation or are not on a provisional acceptance to the College. Academic advisors are faculty members from different areas of the College. While the ultimate responsibility for making decisions about personal goals and educational plans rests with each student, advisors will identify and assess the various options that are available to you.

Advisors perform the following functions:
  • Discuss your educational and career goals in order to help you decide on what program or courses can benefit you the most.
  • Assist you in selecting the appropriate courses to fulfill the requirements of your program.
  • Serve as a source of information about institutional policies, procedures and programs.

For appointments, referrals and information related to all aspects of academic advising, student are urged to stop by the Academic Advising Center during office hours at the Main Campus, West Building, Room 1, first floor; call 215-751-8777; or email advising@ccp.edu. Academic advising is also available in all three of our Regional Centers.

Choosing Community College of Philadelphia is a wonderful step toward a positive future, and Academic Advising will help you achieve your academic and career goals.
