Committed to Diversity
The diversity of our College population, reflecting the demographics of the city, represents a unique strength of the College. Our student body is 45% African American, 38% white, 11% Hispanic, and 6% Asian. We have students of all ages and backgrounds. It's our goal to create an equally diverse employee body and to offer programs and courses that address American and International diversity. Our curriculum requirements reflect this commitment.
The College's success in future years will be greatly determined and specifically measured by its ability to attract a diversity of students and employees, to offer a range of programs and courses reflective of diversity, and to maintain an atmosphere that is conducive to an appreciation of diversity.
The mission of Community College of Philadelphia encourages all students to achieve "increased awareness and appreciation of a diverse world where all are interdependent." The College is committed to communicating to everyone the value of inclusiveness and encouraging everyone to appreciate the cultural backgrounds of themselves and others.
