Coordination Teams

Community College of Philadelphia has assembled a core team and a data team, each with different responsibilities, for the Achieving the Dream initiative. The coach and data facilitator from the Achieving the Dream initiative will help teams analyze and use data.

Core Team Responsibilities

• Identify existing values, assumptions, structures and systems at the College that nurture and impede student success
• Consider leverage points to improve student outcomes, lead a process for setting institutional priorities, goals and strategies
• Engage students, faculty, community members and others in dialogue about the analysis and proposed goals and strategies
• Ensure that strategies are aligned with the College budget and strategic plan in order to promote sustainability
• Provide leadership to spread a culture of inquiry, reflection and commitment to student success throughout the College

Data Team Responsibilities

• Develop a candid analysis of the College's performance with respect to student outcomes, with a special focus on low-income students, students of color and others who face barriers to success
• Examine quantitative and qualitative data and present findings in a clear and compelling way that shows where the College is doing well and where it needs to improve
• Seek involvement of students and faculty to identify strengths and weaknesses of current College policies, structures, and services
• Aide the core team in engaging students, faculty, community members and others in dialogue about the analysis and proposed goals and strategies
