Nurse Aide Training

Begin your career in health care by registering for the Nurse Aide Training program, where classroom lecture, lab skills and clinical practicum prepare you for employment in long-term care facilities, hospitals and nursing homes.

Nurse Aide Training Details

Training topics include the role and function of the nurse aide, resident rights, nutrition, abuse and neglect prevention, personal care skills, communication skills, and legal and ethical aspects of long-term care. Participants will be prepared to sit for the State Board exam at the completion of training.

Note: The registration deadline is two weeks prior to the start of this class. Prospective participants must hold a high school diploma or GED and are required to take reading comprehension and math tests. Participants must pass a general physical examination plus a two-step test for tuberculosis, and must undergo a criminal background check. Documentation of these requirements must be submitted two weeks prior to the start of class.  Download the physical screening form  and complete a criminal background check.
