Geographic Information Systems Academic Certificate
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is a computerized database management system for capture, storage, retrieval, analysis and display of geographic information. It gives you the knowledge and practical skills necessary to develop and manage geographic information projects and to interpret and implement GIS as a decision support system. You will learn how to develop substantial theoretical and practical competencies relating to GIS, develop foundational understanding and skills in the use of industry-standard software, and demonstrate to employers the ability to perform GIS tasks at the entry level.
Upon receiving your academic certificate, you may enter the workforce or your courses may be applied to the Geographic Information Systems associate's degree program at the College, as well as transfer to a four-year college.
