Develop Products for a Changing World
Our Chemical Technology program will teach you chemistry skills for employment in a variety of different industries. You will learn how to design and implement experimental procedures; establish analytical standards; use specialized instruments for chemical identification; test for quality, performance or composition of chemical compounds or materials; compile and interpret data; and write reports and give presentations on experimental data. As you progress through the program, you will receive hands-on experience using modern analytical instruments; gain knowledge of inorganic, organic and analytical chemistry; and prepare to take the industry’s voluntary exam for chemical technicians.
Associate in Applied Science, and transfer to a four-year college
Technician in a variety of settings:
- Health care
- Government agencies
Although Chemical Technology is designed to prepare students to enter the workforce, transfer to chemistry and related majors is possible. The A.A.S. program has official transfer agreements with:
- Cheyney University (dual admissions)
- Temple University (dual admissions)
- Universidad del Sagrado Corazón (Puerto Rico)
Students whose primary goal is to transfer to a B.A. or B.S. in Chemistry should consider the A.S. in Science and/or Chemical Technology.
