Former White House social secretary, CCP grad creates scholarship

Deesha Dyer’s life changed when she enrolled in the Community College of Philadelphia at the age of 30. The Milton Hershey School alumna worked harder than she ever had before, and that work led to seven years of working for President Barack Obama as an intern and eventually White House social secretary. Now she wants to help other people make the most of their second, third or fourth chance. She said, “I want people to be reminded of my story and hope that inspires them to keep going and keep pursuing whatever avenue they desire and also on their own timetable.” So she has created the Deesha Dyer Second Chance Scholarship at CCP.
